He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking, mocking his inability to focus. He should be working on his presentation, but his mind was elsewhere. He kept replaying the interview in his head, dissecting every word, every gesture. His friend, Alex, had been applying too.

He felt a strange tightening in his chest, a sensation he couldn’t seem to control. His hands were clammy, his palms slick with sweat. He got up from his chair and walked to the window, staring out at the city.

He needed to relax, to calm down. He took a deep breath, willing himself to find some inner peace.
